We do procure a particular raw material once in 4 weeks and it comes in different batches with different shelf life. In the material master the total shelf life maintained for that material is 120days and the Min. rem shelf life is 30 days. Checking msc3n of the material and those batches the total shelf life is more than 120 days. Some are even 240 days based on the calculation from the manufacturing date to expiry date. The question is that how does the system handles this scenario since the total shelf life in the material master is different from the total shelf life of those individual batches.
Also there are some instances where we need to adjust the manufacturing and expiry date upon doing goods receipt so that the system could accept it and this is not a good practice because it will not give the accurate age analysis of the material.
